Lindy Ruff is a great coach. Helped Dallas take the next step for sure. I think Spezza will have a huge season not playing with anchors like Michalek and Condra

Young and up-in-coming team w/talent. Been and still am a huge Seguin & Benn fan and just think those 2 will turn it up a notch since there is a 2nd line assembled. Nill is doing a great job and just think if a couple of years ago Stars didn't make that mistake trade (which was the worst in my opinion) the Stars would have probably been a better deeper team w/Neal & Niskanen over Goligoski....

Of the young defensemen, Nemeth looks to be ready to start the year on the NHL roster. I actually look at him to be an upgraded version of Grossman, better skating and more skilled while providing the big body defensive presence, so he should be a solid player for a number of years. Oleksiak made good strides last year, particular in the second half and playoffs of his AHL campaign, but I believe will benefit from more time in Cedar Park though I expect he will get NHL time during the season. Klingberg is a wild card for this year depending on how fast he adapts to North American style hockey, but being a right shot would really help on a presently all left handed shot blue line.

I don't think the stars have a bad blueline at all, they lack that bonafide #1 defenceman, but the depth is there aside from that.

Dillon and Nemeth should form a good pair of shutdown guys on lines 1 and 2 for years, Goligoski is a perfect puck moving anchor for a second line, you just need the minute crunching, #1 pairing, all-situations guy.

If Oleksiak develops into that, look out for the Dallas Stars as the leagues next hawks/kings/bruins.

Niskanen is overrated. Neal is going to be exposed in Nashville for being a one dimensional thug. No one to feed him, he'll score max 25. I was pissed when we made the trade, but as time has gone on I've become ok with it for those reasons.

This is mostly true, Neal does have the finishing touch, still he's little more than an opportunist punk. Gogo had a pretty solid year with Daley last year. I'd like hear again from all the Pen fans that felt Newy got taken to the woodshed on that trade. Even funnier when they thought we really lost the Morrow trade, I loved Morrow but that was all Dallas.

I think we're pretty close on this one. I just think Thug implies he can back it up, I think he looks for opportunitites to cheap shot people. Maybe I worded it incorrectly.
I'm certainly not a fan, there is a reason Pitt and Dal have shipped him off.

Were you guys a Vincour fan hen you had him in the system?
He just signed a 1 year deal to come back to North America, I thought he would never come back after he was traded.

Vincour was a player who sometimes looked like there was more game to him than he usually displayed. There were flashes of it, but they were fleeting. He did play a fairly responsible style from a defensive standpoint.

apparently its a 1 way deal too, guess they are hoping he provides better depth in the bottom 6 instead of those bums Bordeleau and Cliche. He makes the team or is a waiver wire pick up for someone else

Question for you Dallas fans.

What ever happened to Scott Glennie? During his draft year I was hoping the Leafs would draft him because I thought he was going to be a dandy, but for some reason I haven't heard of this guy. Is he a bust or is this guy still going to be something?

He was on the brink of being a bust but came on a bit at the AHL level as last season and the playoffs progressed. Even so, the hope at this point is that he continues developing and perhaps becomes a useful bottom six forward.

If you are stuck in Uverse hell like me , please take 1 minute to fill this out and request the NHL Network.

They have the NHL Network already in their drop down menu for this survey so hopefully they are close to adding it back on .
